Lecture by Shigeaki Iwai: My Work Plan for Demeter, Plan Release and Activity Report
.
.
.

Based on the interviews conducted by Iwai for one month in Tokachi, he will report on his activities and introduce his plan for the work. Please enjoy the Demeter atmosphere prior to the exhibition!

The following were interview contents:
Shigeaki Iwai visited Obihiro for one month from the end of January 2002. He researched and collected materials for his work. He advertised for interviewees who can speak on their images of “snow.”

Through the keyword, “Snow of Tokachi,” Iwai interviewed the people of Tokachi on their images of Tokachi. The recorded works will be used in his sound installation, resembling falling snow. Interviewees received thirty questions on snow from Iwai, such as: “color of snow,” “what snow teaches you,” “what snow takes away from you.” Later, in the interviews, they answered all the questions on the sheet and the artist recorded their voices. They read the prepared answers or spontaneously answered the questions there. Iwai asked, “Please let me know the images of snow through your work, Tokachi, and your situations.” He asked for sixty people of any age, sex, work, and nationalities who live in Tokachi.
